Last Race of the Season at Roaring Knob
Jeremy drove his late model and after the warm ups was placed in the top 10. He was driving well and more aggressively than in his last race. A yellow flag was evident several times throughout the race but Jeremy was holding his own. Then on the last lap, another yellow flag. The race started back up for the last lap for the late models and Jeremy got a flat tire 3/4 of the way through the last lap. He went from 9th to last place in the heat. That was a tough break.
His dad, Jim Zufall drove in the charger division and finished 10/13. His uncle Dale drove his first lap and had oil pressure problems and had to drop out. Dirt track auto racing is truly a family affair.
Overall, Jeremy was grateful that he was able to get out at least a few times this past summer. He is working on lining up sponsors for next year and he may or may not be driving the same car. This was the first time he had ever driven a late model car. He likes driving and is looking forward to next year when he can get on the track sooner in the season and move up in the ranks against his competition.

Zufall Finishes 10th At Roaring Knob Aug 15 2009
The sunny day was hot with beautiful clear blue skies. As evening approached and the hot laps were finished, it was the start of a perfect evening and night for racing on Sat Aug 15th 2009 at Roaring Knob. If you've never been to Roaring Knob to watch a dirt track auto race, you need to take your family. It's only $10 per person to get in and children under 10 are free. It's a great evening of family entertainment and you will get your money's worth.

Jeremy was on the track for the second time this season. His goal was to finish in the top 10 and he did. He needed some adjustments on his car and tires, but in spite of a few technical difficulties, he managed to do well. In addition, he was thankfully able to avoid four accidents.

Here's the happy dirt track auto racing family and Jeremy's car. See you at the track!

Please Help Our Daddy Buy Some New Dirt Track Auto Racing Tires! (and fix his fender)
Dirt track auto racing is fun for the whole family, but many dirt track racers are everyday guys who work hard for a living. You have to start at the bottom and work your way up. It takes money to build a winning dirt track car unless you are just going to race for fun.
Daughters, Alexia and Ava are Jeremy's biggest dirt track auto racing fans. They want their daddy to do well. Someone out there can make that dream come true and get some great advertising in return.
Jeremy, Ava and his dad Jim at Roaring Knob on Sat. Aug 1st enjoying a break in between heats.A note from Alexia and Ava in grandmas words :)
The Low Down on Roaring Knob Dirt Track Auto Race Sat Aug 1st

It was an exciting night. This was the second time this summer Jeremy was able to get on the track. He did his hot lap rounds like everyone else. The next race for him was the heat race. He started last and ended up making the finals, moving up a few cars.
In the finals, he started at 23/27 cars and finished at 16/27 cars. Not bad for his first time completing a dirt track race in a new, virtually untested modified late model. He kept up with the pack all the way and because there were so many cars on the track, they seemed to all stick together.
He did make a few dollars for finishing 16th, but he was just happy that he was able to finish the race and see what more he needs to make his car better so he can move up a few places next time. His take is that he needs new shocks (about $2,000) and a few other items for about $4000 to get his car up to speed with the winners on the track. Jeremy has proven in the past that he has what it takes, but you also need a good dirt track car to be a winner.
Here's a picture of his modified late model and as you can see, it's bare. If you are interested in promoting your sma
ll business to a bunch of loyal dirt track auto racing fans, then why not consider sponsoring Jeremy? He has the talent, the drive, and the interest. He has dirt track racing in his and his family's blood and now, he has a new family that can't wait to see him accomplish his goals. Oh yes, another interesting side note. . . there was a driver who, while racing in the super late models, kept clashing with and bumping another driver. They were playing a very dangerous game because they had their own little "tiff" going on. As a result, they were both disqualified.
The one driver left peacefully but the other driver put the field crews and the other drivers in a lot of danger. He took off wildly around the track, revving up his engine and weaving in and out of the other drivers. He refused to leave the track. The stand off ended with him being blocked in by several tow trucks. Even then, as he left the track, he caused even more problems. Word is that his car was badly damaged in the pits by a few angry people. It's a shame. I've never seen anything like this happen. The police became involved and he won't be racing at Roaring Knob anytime soon. Other than making for a little excitement, most drivers follow the rules and even though they are competitive, they don't cause this kind of trouble.
I'm telling you. . . you need to go see a dirt track auto race. Bring a blanket, some glasses, and wear old clothes because the dirt will get you!

FINALLY! Jeremy Gets On the Dirt Track

I could hardly believe it myself. Saturday, July 25th, Roaring Knob near Ohiopyle, the race was on, then off, then on again. The drive is long at about an hour and a half. The sky was more and more threatening as the day wore on. We started out at 4PM EST with high hopes and many many prayers. Just one lap on that dirt track Lord. Please. . . just one lap. We just want Jeremy to be able to test his new late model modified.
We pulled into Roaring Knob. There was quite a crowd already and many anxious dirt track auto racers just waiting to see what was going to happen. The rain started to slow. Then the sky brightened and the sun barely peaked through the clouds, but it wasn't raining. 30 minutes later, the track was open and the engines were warming up. Thank you God. Just let him get on that track!
Jeremy's turn came and he was one of about 8 cars in his heat. This wasn't the race. It was just the warm up. They were allowed to do a hot lap. That meant that they went around the dirt track several times slowly and then the last lap was a fast practice lap. It was great. He was finally able to test his car and all went well. We were so excited.
The sky was getting darker. It was about 9PM and Jeremy was just coming out for his actual heat race. They were off. Jeremy was next to the last and getting ready to move up when one of the late models spun out. The yellow flag went out. The drivers continued to drive slowly around the track. They got the green. Jeremy was flying and right in front of him, three cars spun out and into each other and blocked most of the track. Thankfully, Jeremy was able to get around them without wrecking into them. Again, the yellow flag was out.
That was close, but Jeremy's car was in tact. Then it happened. Yes, the rain. It started pouring and it rained and rained until 9:30 when it looked like there was no hope. The race was over. People were packing up and leaving in droves. Lightning. Yes, it was over.
But once again, it was a successful night on the dirt track in Pennsylvania. Jeremy got the feel of his car, sized up his competitors, and brought his late model home in one piece. We were all very tired and very thankful that the Lord gave us this brief window of opportunity with no rain and that Jeremy was able to get a feel for what is in store for the next time.

Dirt Track Auto Racing Dreams

So why isn't he on the track? New job. Young family. Too much grass to cut. Too much landscaping to get started with a new house. No time. RAIN!!!! AND MORE RAIN!!!! He tinkers with it on his few days off, but his hopes for even having a chance to race this year are slipping by. It's still up in the air. No one has given up just yet.
When I asked him what he'll do if he doesn't get to race this year he said he will sell the car and start building another one for next year. Our hopes are that he will still be able to get on the track and give it a try.
It is extremely frustrating when dirt track auto racing is in your blood, not to be able to race. It's frustrating to be in a down economy where sponsors are hard to find. Does giving it up ever cross his mind? Yes. There's a brand new camaro he has his eyes on. . . he could sell it all to buy it, but something inside is holding him back. Guess we will wait and see.
More pics are to come of the stages he was building this car in. It looks great finished too, but it's still sitting in his garage. Another several hundred dollars and a few nice, rain free weekends is all it will take to get it on the dirt track. So close, yet so far.

Finally, Pictures of Jeremy's New Dirt Track Late Model Under Construction
Jeremys late model dirt track car under construction in May.
It's great to have a job in this day and age, but it wreaks havoc on trying to build a new dirt track auto racing car.
In between his work schedule, Jeremy has been working hard to build his new late model. With little time and even less money, it is slowly but surely coming together with the hopes that it will get on the track this summer.
Here is a picture of what it looks like while under construction. He's almost done. I'll show you a picture with the skin on it soon but here is what we have for now.

The Red Late Model Has Been Sold! New Dirt Track Late Model Pics Coming Soon!
We will have pictures of the process coming soon. With Jeremy's new working schedule, it's hard to find extra time to work on his new late model dirt track car, but he is hoping to be able to race this summer so he will give it a great effort.
This is what happens in dirt track auto racing. You get dissatisfied with one late model and then find another, better one, to work on so you can go out and win races.
Watch for pictures soon.

Dirt Track Soap Opera Continues
Jeremy wants to get on the track this summer so in order to do so, and because of his new job, he didn't have the time to keep building this car. He is actively looking for another dirt track modified to fill the empty space so I will keep you informed. We need to get him back on the track asap.

Hey Jeremy, Any Dirt Track Updates?
Hello dirt track auto racing fans. I apologize for being so out of touch. I have been trying to raise money and get sponsors, but lately even the sponsors who said yes seem to be backing out using the economy as an excuse. The bad economy is one reason sponsors are not as willing to spend any money this year.
I am entertaining buyers for the red and white modified you see here because I want to race this year. I started a new job and have been out of town quite a bit here and there so that puts a great damper on having time to keep building this modified. I want to race badly so I am in the process of finding a car that is ready to go that I can get back on the track with. All of this stuff takes time and although I am disappointed that I couldn't come up with enough paying sponsors this year to get my car done on time, there is always next year.
Dirt track auto racing has it's ups and downs. It is expensive and when the cost of fuel went up, the drivers on the track went down somewhat. There are still the diehards and those who win enough money to keep up their hobby or profession. For the little guy though, even little guys who win, in this economy it is a lot tougher to keep the car on the track.
That's what's been up with me. When I get my new car I'll get some pictures up and let you know what's going on, but for now, I'll be on the road again next week and meeting with prospective buyers each weekend. Go for the sport. You will have so much fun if you find an old beater and fix it up for the track. Go get some dirt in your eye!

Eat, Sleep, Race - Dirt Track Auto Racing Stuff
https://www.eatsleeprace.com/shoppingcart/products.php?PARTNER=dirttrackcarrace
They will be adding new products and so will we hopefully in the first part of next year. We need to raise money to get Jeremy back on track so we are going to be trying different ways to do that. We are researching to find unique dirt track items to sell and, at the same time, we want to have these organizations benefit by donating part of the proceeds to St. Jude's Hospital and to the Cystic Fibrosis Organizations. Jeremy and his family are heavily involved in Cystic Fibrosis due to one of their 11 year old family members dying from that terrible disease.

The Dangers of Irresponsible Dirt Track Auto Racing
Because of an on-going investigation, I won't name names, but one of Jeremy's family members was injured as a result of a driver gone wild. Jeremy was observing and was to drive the feature when a little bump turned into a major nightmare for the referee who was lining up the cars for the next event. He was in the wrong place at the wrong time as one of the drivers who got angry because he got bumped decided to go out of his spin and drive directly into the oncoming dirt track racers. His intentional revengeful move badly injured the referee who was an innocent bystander, and injured Jeremy's uncle and demolished the front of his modified car they had worked so hard on to build. You can read more about the details of the story by clicking the link.
http://www.fortmilltimes.com/124/story/323019.html
It's a sad day when someone becomes so competitive that they lose sight of what the race is all about. Dirt track auto racing is supposed to be fun for the whole family, and it is. It is a very safe sport and in spite of the fact that there can be some hot heads in the field, as long as you as a future driver realize that, you will have a heads up that something like this just might happen. Jeremy and his family have never seen anything like this in all the years they have been racing. Let's hope it doesn't happen again.

Can Dirt Track Auto Racing be Translated Into A Different Language?
I was thinking in terms of a foreign language translation and dirt track auto racing. Perhaps there are people in other countries who would appreciate being able to look at this site and understand it. In light of that, I came across a great site to translate this site. Translate here. This company will translate dirt track auto racing into numerous languages applicable to many countries surrounding India. The company promises to get back to their customers within one hour most of the time and will even give you a free quote.
In today's global environment, IAFL Translation and Interpretation Services is a great find and a wonderful service for the people worldwide who would like to read about dirt track auto racing in their own language. If you are interested in reading this blog or any other document in a variety of Indian languages then you will want to contact them for a reasonable quote.

Jeremy is Making Progress on His Dirt Track Cars
The new decals are in and they are looking pretty sharp. The car is beginning to take shape both inside and out and soon we will have some new pictures for you. Jeremy is still trying to raise funds from sponsors so he can get the best engine put in.
Jeremy can drive. He has proven that by winning numerous races in PA and MD, and he intends to win again. It's just taking a bit longer than he had hoped. Buying a house at his young age was a big responsibility, getting married and having two children to raise can put a damper on funds. That's why if you are going to dirt track race, you need to have a good funding source so you can continue on when your lifestyle changes from single and living in a garage to married and living with your family! That's not a bad thing, but for a dirt track racer with dirt in his blood, things just can't move along fast enough.

Building a Modified Dirt Track Car - Just the Frame

Getting Ready for Dirt Track Auto Racing is Hard Work
Getting the dirt track racing car ready is hard work. It requires both time and money. Parts are very expensive and when you are an every day working man, you have to do what you can when you can with what you've got.
My point is, if you have a dream, even if you don't have all of the money that you need, don't give up that dream. Maybe a sponsor or two will come along. Maybe you will win the lottery. Maybe, over time, just by doing one little thing after another, you will be successful because you didn't give up. You took bits of extra money and bits of extra time and each time you added something to your car, you were one more step closer to the finish line.
I encourage all of you who have the dream to start out as a dirt track auto racer to not give up. Get your first car, work on it when you can, put money into when you can and when it is all finished you will be proud that you did not give up. You may even find yourself on the dirt track much faster then you ever thought.

Dirt Track Auto Racing-Slash The Price of Your Next Car
More dirt track auto racing topics in the next blog. . . I was just too excited about this one to wait. You really can't use any of these to dirt track race (unless you are a millionaire who wants to modify one for the dirt track), but you can buy one with your dirt track racing winnings.
Two of Jeremy's friends (who already have their cars built and racing) have won over $80,000 already this year in their late model races. It does cost money to get to the point where you have a winning car, but it can be done.

The Frustrations of Being a Dirt Track Auto Racer
The fact of the matter is that dirt track auto racing is very expensive. Jeremy has the car shell, the tires and the basics, but now he needs to get an engine. The car shell itself was just under $10,000 and he is getting it ready to house the engine. He still needs to raise more money to be able to buy the engine that he really wants so he can win a few races. I'll have pictures of what he is working on soon on the blog.
The dirt track auto racing season is a fun one for the whole family so go to google, type in dirt track auto racing tracks (and the name of your city and/or state) and get a schedule so you can have some family fun watching the racers get down and dirty.

Dirt Track Auto Racing - Time to Get Serious

Dirt Track Auto Racing Season Has Begun

Jeremy is back on the track after the birth of his daughter, Ava. Ava was recently quoted as saying, "ah goo, a goo goo" as she watched her daddy get ready for his first dirt track auto race of the season.
Jeremy is still looking to build a new car of his own after blowing up his engine last year.
He most recently drove his dad's car (as seen above as formerly Jeremy's car) and then his uncle's car at a dirt track racing event in Maryland where he finished 6th / 24 cars. He did well considering he was at the back of the pack when he started.
Dirt track auto racing costs alot of money for parts and rebuilding so, in light of the fact that he now has three beautiful girls to take care of, he is focused on driving stock cars for other people until he can get his car finished.
More races are coming up and we will provide you with more specific details. Everyone has been so busy taking care of the newest Zufall that the blog has gotten behind. That's ok though because we will catch up shortly and give you the scoop on what is going on in the dirt track auto racing world in Latrobe, PA.

Dirt Track Racing News Flash!
DIRT TRACK AUTO RACING IS ABOUT FAMILY
We are proud to announce the newest member of Jeremy's dirt track racing team. Here is baby Ava Christine with proud daddy smiling up a storm. She is a week and a half old and mom, dad, sister and baby are doing great. (of course all of the grandmas are very proud too).
Here is just one of her thousands of pictures.
The blog statistics say that people don't want to know about your family. . . they just want to know about "what's in it for me". I really don't want to believe that. I hope our readers don't mind when we brag a bit. After all, dirt track racing is about family. If you are involved in dirt track auto racing, you know just what I'm talking about.
In fact, we'd like to know about all of the little dirt track racing fans out there. Feel free to send me your new baby dirt track auto racer pictures. Email me at dirttrackcarrace@aol.com and send along an attachment and your littlest dirt track racers's name and age and I will be sure to include your newest little dirt track racer in one of our blogs!

Dirt Track Baby on The Way! News Flash!
In the meantime, Jeremy has just about finished building his modified and is now working on another one, but a late model dirt car for his friend. He has the bare frame in his garage and will be building this one from the ground up.
He still hasn't heard anything about the Nascar Truck circuit and he may not for awhile, but in the meantime, he isn't letting any moss grow under his feet. He is getting ready for the dirt track season and eagerly anticipating the arrival of his littlest dirt track student. We'll keep you updated!
Don't forget to visit Jeremy's dirt track racing website. http://www.dirttrackautoracing.com
Oh yes, they are still deciding whether to dress her up in a steeler outfit or a dirt track outfit. Any suggestions from the dirt track racing fans out there?

Dirt Track Auto Racing - Baby Ava on the Way
Dirt Track Auto Racing - Meet Jeremy Zufall
Jeremy has another reason to smile though. . . his daughter AVA is on her way. She is due at the end of August and Jeremy is having trouble deciding whether to put a Pittsburgh Steelers Outfit on her when they bring her home from the hospital or a dirt track racing outfit. I wonder what he'll choose?
I think Jeremy was really hoping for a boy so he could teach him how to get down and dirty on the track too, but there is no reason that Ava can't go for the gold too. We may be writing a blog about her in the future!
Watch for my next blog when I will post a picture of Ava to be and her mom. They too are getting ready for a new season of dirt track auto racing.

From Dirt Track to Asphalt Track - Trying it Out

He said it is "very different" then driving on the dirt track. He needs to drive again, and he still needs to get the thumbs up from the Nascar truck owner. If he does succeed and the Nascar truck owner is pleased with how he drives, then the hard part starts.
You just don't get to drive a Nascar Truck. You get to drive a Nascar Truck (usually for a $50,000 fee upfront) and then you get to promote yourself. There are all kinds of steps in between and it is a long road to haul, but the rewards can be exceptional in many ways in the end.
I'll keep you apprised of Jeremy's progress. In the meantime, don't forget to visit his website at http://www.dirttrackautoracing.com/ for more pictures and dirt track auto racing information. Who knows, maybe one of these days we'll be building a website for Nascar Racing Trucks!!!

The Dirt Track Car Has Been Rebuilt
Jeremy has been working very hard on rebuilding his dirt track car to get ready for the summer. It is now rebuilt, but, he is trying something different this week. I don't know how it will go for him but he has been asked to try out for driving a Nascar Truck in North Carolina.
He is a great dirt track auto racing driver but this weekend will tell if he can also drive a Nascar Truck for the Nascar Truck series. He figures he has nothing to lose by at least giving it a chance. It he doesn't make it, it's back to the auto dirt track. I'm sure it's in his blood and because of that, he just won't quit.
I'll keep you posted on his progress. In the meantime, he is building a site on sponsor house too and when it is completed, I'll put the information on the blog for you too. Have a great summer on the dirt track!

Dirt Track Auto Racing - He Never Gives Up
All of last year I watched car after car engine blow up or something else go wrong. It seemed like it was time to call it quits, but no, that just won't happen if it is in your blood. It is in the Zufall family's blood.
Jeremy, his dad, his uncles, his grandfather and his father before him have been avid dirt track racing fans since what seems like forever. He has an incredible family support base with his dad, his wife, his sister, his uncles, cousins and friends. Every time it looks like Jeremy is about to throw in the towel (you can tell when he mutters under his breath), he orders some new part on Ebay or meets with his dad to see what they can do.
His new car is in the garage of his new house (the family car is in the driveway of course). He and his wife are expecting their second child due in late August and although Jeremy had plans to put the new baby under the hood, she will be dressed in pink! Hey, who says a girl can't race?
I'll keep you updated. So far the frame is painted, the body is on top of the frame and it's painted and he's adding all of the necessary parts, bit by bit. We are looking forward to an exciting racing season, win or lose. If it's in the blood, you just have to do it. That's the way it works with dirt track auto racing!!

Dirt Track Auto Racing - Finding Sponsors
Jeremy is working on his stock car for next year but has the chance to drive a late model if he can find sponsors. The average sponsor can kick in anywhere from $500 to thousands of dollars to have their name placed on the car. It's a great form of advertisement and it allows the dirt track racer to apply his or her skill without worrying about the quality of the car.
We will be adding pages to the website soon that will show exactly how sponsoring works. So please check back for the announcement because we want to keep this sport alive and the more sponsors there are, the better the sport can become.
Most important of all is the fact that Jeremy and his racing family have been supporting St. Jude's Children's Hospital by donating a percentage of their winnings, an average of 30%. Jeremy is once again, this year, committing to donating 30% of his wins.
If you are a potential sponsor, you can contact Jeremy at dirtrackcarrace@aol.com
Please don't forget to visit our website at http://www.dirttrackautoracing.com and THANKS SO MUCH FOR YOUR SUPPORT OF OUR WEBSITE AND BLOG!

Dirt Track Auto Racing - The Slow Season
We haven't had much to say on the blog lately because the dirt track auto racing season is over for all of us on the East Coast. You can still find a few races if you want to travel to the warmer states in the US. For most of us though, it's time to get ready for the New Year and another racing season and that means time for rebuilding.
Jeremy Zufall, one of the local Latrobe Champions and his dad Jim, also a champion dirt track racer, are busy working on painting Jeremy's modified for next year. He's also working on rebuilding the motor and other key parts so he has a better year this year. His engine blew up last year and he was racing other people's cars which really isn't quite the same as building and tweaking your own so you know what you're getting into. He is a great driver and with the right car, he will continue to be a winner.
Jeremy is also busy building a new house which will be done in the next month or two. He's spending time primering and painting the walls right now. Wayne Homes is building most of it but he has to put the final touches on. Never hurts to save a few bucks so you can use if for your race car. . . He is also looking forward to having his own space to work on his stock cars. Not sure what the neighbors will think though when they hear the rumble and roar during his testing phases! Jeremy's dad, Jim and his mom Tammy just finished building their new house too. Of course they have always had the room they need to work on their cars and Jeremy's cars over many years and the neighbors don't mind because they doesn't have any! Wide open spaces. . . lots of room for test races!
Jeremy and Jim are both looking forward to the new season and it seems all too far away. Tammy also volunteers at the dirt track and she is a great help to all of the guys during the events.
By the way, please don't forget to visit our http://www.dirttrackautoracing.com site for more info on dirt track auto racing. Have a blessed New Year and thanks for all of your support during this past year.

Dirt Track Auto Racing - Challenger Raceway Blow Out
The weather was very cold, there were lots and lots of heat races, the track was dusty and everyone was trying to get one last race in before the really bad weather hit. Jeremy and Jim Zufall both tried their best to do what it would take. Jeremy wound up being 4th in the heat race out of about 30 which wasn't too bad. Jim was doing well until his axle broke and his wheel fell off. He did get it fixed and went back in the race later but he was already too far behind to have it make any difference. Jeremy thought things would go pretty well until his motor blew up during his final race.
All in all with all of the problems Jeremy had this year, he is looking forward to making next year much better. We may be uploading a bit of video from the race if we can or at least providing a link for you.
In the meantime, don't forget to take a look at the custom gifts you can get for the holidays coming up for your favorite dirt track auto racer from Cafe Press. Just click on the banner. Challenger Raceway - A Real Challenge
Jeremy had worked hard modifying his automatic transmission problem car into a standard. The car was working great and he did well in the qualifying heats coming in 4th out of about 30 cars, but when the finals came around on Sunday night, it was all over. No one got to finish because there were so many wrecks and red flags. It was way too cold to be racing too. Jim Zufall, Jeremy's dad fared even worse when in the qualifying rounds, his axle broke.
Jeremy came home with windburned lips that look sort of like a male Angelina Jole (just his lips) and Jim came home with a broken down car. It took them the last two days just to warm up. Others fared even worse with one of the racers having to be life flighted after his car wrecked and caught on fire. He is ok though.
I'm hoping to get a few pics posted about the event in the next week or two and will post them on the blog. Needless to say, their last race of the season was a disappointment.

Dirt Track Auto Racing - New Articles
Racing Carburetors
By Eric Morris
Today, some of the most powerful cars in the world are using carburetors rather than the automatic fuel injection system. This is because to produce torque and horsepower, you require a mixture of air and fuel. A 600-horsepower engine will need about 300 pounds of fuel per hour. The needs of racecars are very different compared to the needs of a typical passenger vehicle. With the large amounts of 'G' forces the cars withstand, you need a fuel delivery system that can compensate for the high pressure they endure.
Another reason why racecars use carburetors rather than electric fuel injection systems is because of their ability to allow the vehicle to accelerate at a very fast rate in the lower gears, allowing it to pick up RPMs very quickly. This rapid acceleration increases the demand for fuel.
What will happen if fuel delivery is weak?
If your fuel delivery system is weak, your engine will not be as efficient when producing power with regard to the amount of fuel used. When this happens, it may cause your motor to miss or "burn-up" parts. One sure thing that will happen is that you will not receive top performance from your motor. You will not be able to get all of the power you could possibly get. This is why it is important for racecars to have new racing carburetors, camshafts, and flowed heads. Regardless of how advanced the car's carburetor is, if you do not have a fuel delivery system that can handle that much power and maintain correct levels, the carburetor will not be able to disperse the optimum mixture of fuel and air.
What will happen if the fuel system is too large?
There is a misconception that having a fuel delivery system that is too large will hurt performance, which is untrue. It will actually ensure that the type of carburetor you have in your motor will give you an optimum mixture of fuel and air for maximum power.
Carburetors provides detailed information on Carburetors, Carburetor Kits, Rebuilt Carburetors, Carburetor Parts and more. Carburetors is affiliated with Wheel Bearings. |

Jim Zufall finished second over all in points for the season. As soon as we get his pictures, we will upload one and post a few on the website at http://www.dirttrackautoracing.com
It was an exciting night with a free for all event. Not everyone took advantage of the no rules situation, but it was alot of fun to watch anyway. The season still continues on for many dirt track auto racers where there is good weather year round. We will continue to contribute to the blog adding more tips, articles, product recommendations and advice until Latrobe's dirt track racing season begins next year.

Dirt Track Auto Racing - Jeremy's Car Artists Rendition

Dirt Track Auto Racing
What more could a dirt track racer want then an original portrait of his car! We won't disclose who the artist is because the person is kind of shy. Even though the person is an amateur it's still a pretty darn good rendition of Jeremy's Charger (before the motor blew up this year).
This gave us a good idea. We are trying to promote the sport of dirt track auto racing and at the same time, make the site fun to visit. If you have a picture of your favorite dirt track auto racer and you would like us to put it on our website or blog, email the pic to me along with your story and we will be happy to include you on our site. We are trying to promote the sport as a whole so if you love the sport then share your experiences with the world. Just make sure your pics are your own or you are giving credit where credit is due for copywrite reasons. Don't forget to visit our website at http://www.dirttrackautoracing.com

Dirt Track Auto Racing - Zufall's Dad Wins!

Dirt Track Auto Racing - Another Zufall Win!
Talk about keeping it all in the family. . . Jeremy's dad, Jim Zufall #15 won the Charger event hands down. This is his third win since July. When asked how he did it, his answer was, "I just love to race. I do it for the fun of it." Jeremy helped his dad work on his car to get it ready for the dirt track race. He and his dad help each other.
Jeremy is working on his car (remember his motor blew up) to get it ready for the race at Challenger Race Track in Indiana Pennsylvania. He isn't sure if they are going to have it ready in time, but they are working hard to do so. Challenger is a 3 day event where there will be plenty of dirt track auto racing for everyone.
As a spectator of dirt track auto racing, I've learned that getting down and dirty is for the fans as well. The late models race around the track at speeds up to 120 mph. Pieces of dirt fly everywhere no matter where you are sitting, but you definitely don't want to be on the turns. Layers of dust settle on your clothing, on your skin and in your hair. The noise is deafening. It takes some getting used to but it is exciting and fun, especially when you are cheering on your favorite dirt track auto racer.
So congratulations to Jeremy's dad, Jim Zufall, for another great win!

Dirt Track Auto Racing - The Dirt Track
In my newsletter I've been discussing the importance of having a good attitude. On the [dirt track], you are going to need it. [Dirt track auto racing] can also be at the mercy of the track conditions. This week at our local Latrobe dirt track, the delays were long and unwelcome. The weather does play a part in the condition, but the dirt track needs to be ready for the racers or temperatures will start to rise. My car is still out of commission as I need about $2000 to repair the motor. I'm driving other cars in the meantime, but it's not the same. My good buddy won the dirt track race this past weekend and my dad and uncle are doing great as well. But everyone still needs to keep that mental edge when dealing with a dirt track that isn't the best to race on when you most need it.
Here are some great pics snapped by David Bulebush from Sterling Virginia, at the Latrobe speedway. Dirt Track Auto Racing Pics.

Dirt Track Car: Switching from a Manual to an Automatic
I recently had my modified dirt track car up for sale. I got an email from a guy in NY who said he would be interested in trading my modified for his. I drove back to Latrobe and have been working on the car ever since. My first dirt track race wasn't very successful. I was doing great and was in first until the yellow caution flag interrupted my progress. 5 more laps under the caution flag and my car overheated. Back to the pits. I need to do more work. Not real sure I like driving the automatic. It's different, but I'll make it work or find another modified to race. Don't forget to visit my home page.
