He's Back on the Track - RUSH - Rushing to Get a Win and GOT IT! First dirt track racing win of the season.
The crate class modified dirt car is now ready to go. Jeremy has had it on the track twice. You can see the race results by visiting the site: http://rushsportsmanmods.com/Driver%20Finishes%20By%20Track%20Mods%202014.pdf
He has never driven this type of car before so it was a new experience. All of the controls are in the center of the car between the driver's legs so it's really important not to stop too fast!
His first two races were test races for him to see if the car was ready to go. After a few adjustments, the second race went better then the first. He had a respectable 10th place finish out of 16 cars in the field. Not bad for his second time ever in this type of modified.
He's getting ready to race again tonight. Finally, a weekend without rain, things will hopefully be looking up for a great racing night on the dirt track. We will keep you updated.

End of Dirt Track Racing Season at Roaring Knob October 18 2013
Jeremy ended his season with an 18th place finish in the final Feature Race at Roaring Knob. His goal this coming year is to work on finding someone to help him set up his car to optimize his race efforts between the heat races and feature.
He also brought a lot of "Joy" to the kids Wednesday night program at Word of Life Church in Greensburg PA. He and his Uncle Dale brought the #20 car to the church, allowed about 90 kids to take a closer look at what a dirt track Late Model car looks like in person, and handed out Dirt Track T-Shirts, compliments of Joy Global.
The kids had a great time, had their pictures taken, and now have an idea of how much fun dirt track auto racing can be.
Have a great winter and for those who are still racing who live in the more moderate climates, have a great year.

Dirt Track Racing - Racing Different Tracks
Now that Jeremy's favorite dirt track is closed (Dog Hollow Raceway), he's been trying out Marion Center. Marion Center's track has it's ups and downs. It is a smaller oval dirt track so it seems like it's harder to move up in the ranks. The track gets nasty after it rains the day before. There are some serious ruts in places that seem to have caused numerous restarts and wrecks. The one day we were there the track looked like it was covered in ice.
Jeremy raced well and avoided several wrecks the last two times he was racing there, but he did get smashed into his driver door by a car that looked like it just made a B-Line for him. The driver said he didn't do it on purpose but it was the strangest thing I've ever seen while watching a dirt track race. Thank God Jeremy didn't get hurt. The car was pretty beat up that day from several other encounters, but it's still in one piece.
He is still hovering around the middle of the pack. It seems as though there are more drivers then ever in the Late Models and the Super Late Models and that is most likely because that is where the money is. It's really tough when you watch these races and see that the drivers in the top 10 seem to be equally good drivers for the most part. When they finally get spaced out with a car length between each of them, they have a tough time catching up and passing one another. That is just my opinion as an observer regarding the drivers. I know there are Late Models and Super Lates that have lots and lots of money poured into the cars. That may make a difference too in the long run.

Dirt Track Racing - Race Results Roaring Knob Speedway July 13 2013 Jeremy Zufall
Here are the official race results from Roaring Knob Speedway dirt track racing event this past Saturday, July 13, 2013. It was not the greatest night for Jeremy. He started in the heat race on the pole but was having trouble staying down low. He finished 4th in the heat and started 12th in the Feature. Once again, during the feature, he seemed to be out of sync moving back to almost last place until the last half of the race when he started to hug the inside corners and moved up to finish 11th. When we counted we saw six cars in front of him so we aren't sure how he wound up being 11th in the Feature with only 6 cars in front. We were happy with the last minute come-back and more aggressive driving. Dirt track auto racing can sure have it's ups and downs.
This weekend he will be racing at Marion Center where it is autograph night. Once again the forecasters are calling for severe thunderstorms on a race night. This weather has not been race friendly this year for sure. This will be the fourth time attempt at racing for Jeremy. He has only gotten in one actual events that finished without rain through the feature. Hopefully the storms will stay away but from the looks of it on the radar so far, it's not looking good. See you on the dirt track!

Dirt Track Auto Racing Results Sharon Speedway Joy Global Night June 22 2013 Jeremy Zufall
Thanks to Sharon Speedway for the race results for Joy Night at the dirt track. Jeremy Zufall wasn't certain until the last few hours heading out to the track, that he would even be racing since he didn't have everything ready on his Fastrak late model #20, but he and his crew pulled it off at the last minute.
He almost never pulls a good pill, but on this day, he was supposed to start on the pole. He had to give it up because he had never raced this new engine before and didn't know how the car would handle. He didn't want to take a chance that something would go wrong. He adjusted the car after the heat race and started near last in the Feature. As you can see, he moved up a few spots from 17 to 12th. He was pleased with the way the car was handling and is ready to go now for the season. Hopefully he will pull another good pill or two this summer.

Sharon Speedway Dirt Track Racing Results - Special Events
News Release
Dirt Track Racing Events Coming Up. Watch Jeremy race on Joy Global night this coming Saturday, June 22nd. Steel Valley Thunder.
6 DIVISIONS OF RACING EXCITEMENT SLATED FOR SATURDAY AT SHARON BEFORE TUESDAY’S OHIO SPRINT SPEEDWEEK
By Mike Leone
June 19, 2013 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Hartford, OH)…With summer in full force, it’s been a busy stretch for
Sharon Speedway with a pair of events last week now two more slated
within the next week. “Steel Valley Thunder” racing will resume this
Saturday, June 22
COME WATCH JEREMY RACE ON THE OVAL DIRT TRACK
followed by Ohio Speedweek for the All Star Sprints on
Tuesday, June 25.
Sharon has completed 11 straight events and
will look to make it 12 on Saturday as good weather is predicted.
Saturday is Joy Global Night and will feature the Governor Insurance
Agency DIRTcar Big-Block Modifieds, Barris Supply RUSH Late Models,
Summit Racing Equipment Modifieds, Gibson Insurance Agency Stock Cars,
HTMA/Precise Racing Products Econo Mods, and the Deforest Used Parts
Mini Stocks. Racing begins at 7 p.m.
Once again Saturday night,
one lucky boy and girl under the age of 14 will win a bicycle or
scooter thanks to King Bros. and Sharon Speedway. This promotion will
continue throughout the 2013 season. Saturday’s kitchen special is
sauerkraut and kielbasa with mashed potatoes.
After what
looked like Jim Weller, Jr. was clearly the dominate car with his new
Troyer in the DIRTcar Big-Block Modifieds, Rex King has stepped up his
game with two consecutive victories after struggling since his April 27
win. Weller’s lead has shrunk to 12 points over King in the Governor
Insurance Agency Championship point chase. The two veterans have gone at
it now for some 30 years at Sharon!
Two-time winner Rex King,
Jr. is third in points with one-time victor Dave Murdick fourth. Ricky
Richner and Eric Gabany have been two great additions to the weekly
field this year with their “358” small-blocks and are fifth and sixth
respectively in points. Richner is coming off his season best run in
third one week after a season worst ninth place finish.
More Sharon Speedway Dirt Track Results
Dennis
Lunger, Jr. kicked off a great weekend for himself in Sweeney Chevrolet
Buick GMC Weekly Series action winning his third of the season last
Saturday then went and made his first ever start Sunday at Allegheny
Mountain Raceway a successful one. Lunger leads the Sharon points by a
whopping 49 over defending champion Will Thomas III. Lunger is also the
highest Sharon regular in the $5,000 to-win Sweeney Weekly Championship
points as he sits fourth. Third through fifth in Sharon points are Josh
Double, Matt Latta, and Eric Wilson.
It was quite a week for
Modified racer Mike Kinney. The Ashtabula, Ohio driver won his season’s
first on June 8, finished fourth in the $2,000 to-win UEMS event on June
12 then found victory lane for the second time in a week last Saturday
night! Kinney now has a 16-point lead on Jeff Johnson in search of his
first ever championship in the Summit Racing Equipment-sponsored
division. Joe Gabrielson is just two points behind Johnson in third.
Early point leader Alan Dellinger has dropped to fourth over Shawn
Shingledecker.
The Stock Cars turned in their biggest count
for a regular show this season last Saturday at 18 and the highest since
the open show on May 26. Ironically, Rod Laskey was the winner of both
of those shows. After battling for the championship last year, Laskey
has only made four Sharon starts this year, but has made them count with
two wins, a second, and a fourth!
While in the Gibson
Insurance Agency point chase, Mike Clark sits atop the standings by 14
over defending champion Tim Burns. Clark, who has never won a
championship either, is having his career best season with two wins this
far. Third through fifth are Paul Davis, Jamie Scharba, and Brian
Carothers.
The battles between 17-year-old Jeremy Double and
12-year-old Jacob Eucker in the Econo Mods have sure stirred the
interest of the crowd. Double of nearby Bristolville, Ohio has four wins
to Hartford, Ohio racer Eucker’s three. The two compete side-by-side up
front seemingly week in and week out.
Another three-time
winner, Ryan Fraley, has been the more consistent of the trio as he has a
five-point advantage on Double in the HTMA/Precise Racing Products
point chase heading into Saturday. Eucker trails the point leader by
just 17. One-time winner Steve Burns, Jr. and rookie Ty Rhoades round
out the top five.
Travis Creech is having quite the rookie
season. The Mini Stock racer won his third of the season last Saturday
night and has battled his way to second in the Deforest Used Parts
points closing the gap to 39 behind five-time winner Scott Gilliland.
Pits open at 4 p.m. Saturday with grandstands at 5 and heat races
slated for 7. Grandstand admission for those 14 and over is $13, while
children under 14 are always free. Pit passes are $25. Parking and
camping is always free.
Don’t forget that coming up on next
Tuesday (June 25) will be the first of four Sprint Car shows in 2013 at
Sharon! The first event will be an All Star Circuit of
Champions-sanctioned event as part of Ohio Speedweek with the winner
pocketing $5,000. The Econo Mods ($350 to-win) and Mini Stocks ($200
to-win) will be part of the program in points-paying events. Qualifying
for the Sprints will get underway at approximately 6:30 p.m.

New Dirt Track Auto Racing Website! Check it out!
We have completely redesigned our dirt track auto racing website to make it easier for you to navigate and find information. You will see the dirt track racing schedules for Roaring Knob and Dog Hollow right now and we will be adding more schedules from other tracks in Western Pennsylvania.
When we built our first dirt track racing website, we really didn't have the knowledge on how to build a site correctly to make it user friendly. This is an attempt to help you learn more about the sport while giving Jeremy Zufall a platform to discuss his experience on the dirt track. Between the dirt track blog you are seeing here and his website, we are hoping to keep you updated and informed.
We hope you enjoy the new and improved site and welcome your suggestions on our blog. So check it out: http://www.dirttrackautoracing.com and let us know what you think or what information you would like to see added to the site that would be helpful for you.

Dirt Track Auto Racing Season Preparation - New Engine
Jeremy is making progress on building his new, 2013 dirt track auto racing car #20, Fastrak Late Model. He was able to finally get the new motor, thanks to the help of his family, so we thought we'd share a pic. Hopefully, with a few more tweaks, he will be able to get on the track soon.
Here's the pic of his Late Model under the hood. See you at the track!

Sneak Peak Jeremy Zufall Working on His New Fastrak Late Model for 2013 Dirt Track Auto Racing Season
Now that Jeremy finally has the parts he needs (all but the engine), the first nice weekend was spent with family and friends working on putting some of those parts in place. Getting a dirt track car ready for the track is hard work. You have to build the basics and then test and tweek until you get everything right. Every spare minute after work is used, especially when the season is ramping up.
We'll have more pics as the progress continues. Hope to see you at the dirt track this year!

Weekends will be devoted to building the new car and getting on the track as quickly as possible. We will keep you updated.

Jeremy Zufall Roaring Knob Dirt Track Race Results October 19, 2012
Results from this past weekend dirt track FASTRAK racing at Roaring Knob:
Qualifying and Heat races were Friday night. Jeremy finished 6th in
the 3rd heat, missing the transfer spot to the A main by one. After a
rain out Saturday, when racing resumed on Sunday, he won the 2nd B Main

only to have a short night by getting hit and causing the steering rack
to break in the car. This ended the night with a 23rd place finish.
Jeremy won the B Main and made the A Feature!
Friday night
Jeremy got started with qualifying and four drivers were able to lower
Max Blair’s previous track record of 16.897 set at the last Tour event
on September 28 led by Will Thomas with a new standard of 16.631! Thomas
also won the first heat race in addition to Pegher, Blair, and Flinner,
who also all had laps faster than the previous standard. B main winners

Rain Rain Go Away. Muddy Dirt Tracks!
Nothing interesting to post lately because of all the rain. When dirt tracks get wet, the dirt track auto races get canceled. Lately, the last few races were canceled, including Jeremy's JOY night and autograph night at Dog Hollow Raceway. Jeremy raced his dad's Charger last night at Roaring Knob. More to come on that one. Hopefully, see you on the dirt track soon!
